Hexagram 42 Expansion of Potential Risks of Overshooting Imbalance in Growth |
Downfall and decrease is a part of life but so is increase and expansion. You can’t always stay down and make sense of every situation from a step back. Sometimes, moving up is the only way to really discover purpose and give your life some meaning.
If you tested your luck with the I Ching recently and were given Hexagram 42 upon six coin tosses, it means time has finally come for you to experience a period of growth and increase in your life.
Guidance:
- Vision and temporary motivation can only take you so far; small increases and progress throughout a journey keeps you pushing forward for more.
- In practical life, it would be a waste of potential to have small aims when you’re capable of bigger victories. Increases allow you to expand your work and see what you’re truly capable of.
- Meaningful increases over time directly translate to progress, and the compounding of progress eventually unlocks the door to greatness.
Warnings:
- Taking too big of a leap too quickly can be detrimental to progress.
- Constant growth and increase in only one aspect of life can leave the others weak and vulnerable. That’s never a good thing, especially when up against rivals who may attack weak links first.
- An increase can be deeply disappointing if the feeling of triumph doesn’t last long enough.
Hexagram 42 Message
Moments of increase are essential for progress throughout the journey of life. No matter what the field of work, increases need to be made on some level for better output and advancement. Progress over time compounds into bigger opportunities that lead one to his/her ultimate purpose.
Hexagram 42 is a reminder that even during phases of decline and depreciation, one must not give up on the hope of growth. Every chapter eventually ends, allowing for a better or worse one to begin. Maybe the next chapter in your life will be full of progress and extraordinary highs.
Hexagram 42 Message For Love & Relationships
A lot of people fall in love to achieve something but soon that love fades as they realize there’s nothing to achieve. Love has neither a destination nor a set endpoint; it’s not supposed to “lead” you somewhere. For many, falling in love can fill a void but that’s about it.
What people fail to understand is that love is more of an experience than a path. Everything from growth to overwhelming emotions is involved in the experience of love. Accept it for what it is and don’t over-expect from love to provide you with the answers you seek.
Messages From The Lines Of Hexagram 42
Line 1:
Smaller increments are generally preferred over bigger leaps. However, depending on the situation and your confidence, you can take a bigger leap and see major progress. If you’re doubtful, there’s nothing wrong with a minor increment but make sure the increase is within a “safe” range.
Overconfidence can be fatal to progress. Knowing your limitations and what you’re capable of is important as it allows you to progress steadily and only take on what you know you can comfortably handle.
Line 2:
The people who surround you are valuable; they love and respect you more than anyone else. It wouldn’t be fair to them if you just expand your circle and neglect them. Socializing and building new connections is important but not at the cost of valuable relationships you were blessed with.
Many times, making new friends isn’t the answer, and you might be better off giving more time and attention to the ones you already have.
Line 3:
An increase in pain is never a good sign, be it physical or emotional. If help isn’t available, call for it; people who care for you will definitely want to have your back during this time. While it may sound courageous and heroic on your end, every painful experience does not have to be dealt with in solidarity. If it’s an ego thing, get rid of the ego!
You need to understand, not everyone out there intends to break you. Don’t be hesitant to show your weaknesses and injuries around people who seem genuinely dependable.
Line 4:
If expanding operations and leveling up, watch out for people you don’t share a good history with as they may already be plotting against you. You can’t shut their eyes and keep them from watching the show, so the best course of action would be to stay low and only intervene if their malicious intent starts to disturb your work.
Additionally, flaunting your prosperity might not be the best idea right now. Fight that urge to be loud about your progress and keep new accomplishments to yourself till the air clears.
Line 5:
If something feels right, there’s no need to change it despite what the original plan might be. It’s better to just stick to what feels good in the moment and not worry about the rest. Overcomplication often brings uneasiness and consumes a ton of your energy for little to no gain in return.
Rather than wasting your time by trying something new and then going back to your initial plan, try to stick with what feels better that day and get something meaningful out of it.
Line 6:
Humility doesn’t matter when you have nothing. It’s okay for a badly off person to not be humble as long as he doesn’t carry excessive pride with himself. However, as one’s wealth increases, it becomes mandatory to adopt a down-to-earth nature and practice gratitude. Remember, it’s the divine power in the sky that blesses humanity with gifts of prosperity and He’s the one who can take it back in a blink.
If you’re into the book of I Ching, you’ll know that the Hexagrams inside it leave no element of life unacknowledged. Hexagram 41 talks about “decrease” while Hexagram 42 enlightens us about the concept of “increasing” and scaling up in life. An honest piece of advice regarding 42 would be to take its guidance seriously and apply it in practical life even if it’s only once. A lot of people make the mistake of just reading Hexagram interpretations but then going about their lives the same way as before. If you believe a particular interpretation can be helpful in the situation you’re facing at the moment, make use of it and apply it to your reality!
