If you ever analyze the timeline of someone who’s found their way to great success and fortune in life, there will always be an up-and-down pattern to it. Periods of seemingly unstoppable growth are usually followed by temporary downfalls and that’s just the way life is.

Hexagram 46 from the I Ching reminds you that it’s good to be sensitive to problems faced throughout a journey. Any growth on a personal level is majorly a result of you truly recognizing problems and using your mental or emotional wisdom to find a way out of them.

Hexagram 46 Message

Personal growth is perhaps the most important aspect of anyone’s life. Without advancing as a person, it’s difficult to climb the ladder of life and reach an honorable position. Luck and destiny might get you there but there’s no guarantee that luck will play in your favor.

Small incremental steps and minor victories eventually lead to major ones. However, one does not stay on top forever. Brief rises are usually followed by periods of downfall where you get the opportunity to sharpen yourself for a better leap.

Hexagram 46 Message For Love & Relationships:

Sometimes, distancing from a relationship can be beneficial to achieve goals that are worthwhile. Two people that have completely different dreams and aspirations in life can become one in a relationship but that connection isn’t enough to hold them together forever. In simpler words, while a relationship can survive even if the partners aren’t on the same page, individual ambitions unfortunately can’t.

Messages From The Lines Of Hexagram 46

Hexagram 46 Symbol

Line 1:

The ego starves and struggles under slow progress. Unlike a just fisherman who waits with his rod in the sea, the ego wants quick catches and big leaps to make one feel superior to others. When it’s not fed what it wants, motivation can decline and meaningful progress is never made.

Before setting out on a journey or beginning something new, ask yourself if you truly want to do it or are just being pressured by your ego. If the answer seems to be the latter, take a step back and reflect on your true intentions.

Line 2:

Some people will never like you because your spirit just irritates their demons. Personal growth is about getting ahead of such people and letting go of the desire to be liked by everyone. When the mind is young, it’s easy to think that everybody will like you if you become what they want you to be. However, real wisdom lies in accepting yourself as you are and growing out of the need for external validation.

Line 3:

In certain situations, taking shortcuts is totally alright as long as you aren’t avoiding an important route. It’s a fundamentally incorrect idea that taking shortcuts and getting around a problem is a bad thing especially when the pros of the easier path outweigh the cons.

Assess the trouble you’re faced with and contemplate whether taking an easy way out would be a good idea. If all you see are green lights, take whatever path seems the least stressful, and don’t look back!

Line 4:

Testing limits is something easier said than done. A lot of people push others to test their limits while having no idea of their own.

Deliberately putting yourself in uncomfortable waters is perhaps the dumbest thing if done wrong. You’ll find many trying to purposelessly test their limits and unlock potential without any solid intention. Just know that without desperation and reason, neither can you truly “test” your limits nor break past them in practicality.

Line 5:

You don’t always have to trample over rivals/competitors to get to the top. Many of them will be more than happy to hop on board with you and even shake hands for larger projects. The condition here is that they must see the light in you and some potential benefit for both parties. It’s your duty to maintain civility and integrity, however, as respect remains the most important pillar of any partnership, even if it’s with the worst of rivals.

Line 6:

Reaching a position of honor and nobility often attracts bad eyes. People in your inner circle might try to overpower or manipulate you if they don’t like the prosperity you’re being blessed with. While you have the right to create some drama and defend your property, the truth is that trying to knock sense into people like these usually won’t work. It’s best you eliminate them from your life completely and maybe find peace in solitude or better supportive company.
