Hexagram 56 Purpose Over Destination Stability in Relationships Potential Dangers |

Dust settles, wanderers don’t. They’re up and about in search of shelter and sustenance despite knowing it will only be temporary. It’s easy to disregard a wanderer till you realize that his journey is somewhat similar to everyone else’s – a newborn steps foot in this world only to set out on a journey towards his/her purpose a few years later.

Hexagram 56 from the I Ching enlightens you about wanderers and how their strolls have a splendor invisible to the melancholic eye.

Hexagram 56 Message

To the basic eye, a wanderer appears to be a lost man with no roof over his head. He strolls around seemingly aimlessly but, deep down, he has a purpose that he’s after. Fools bash him while the wise envy him for his lack of care for generic rules and regulations. Unlike others, he’s not stuck under the burden of his own possessions and embarks on long adventures wherever he wants whenever he wants. Only the wise and enlightened can see the mystique of a wanderer.

In practical life, being a wanderer means you don’t stick around for too long. Some relationships will be temporary and life will be lived on the go. Unsurprisingly, there’s great beauty in that.

Hexagram 56 Message For Love & Relationships

Sticking around for each other in hard times is the true essence of a relationship.  Frustration and momentary rage can, however, suck away that kind of empathy from your mind resulting in uncertainty between partners and an inability to wholeheartedly trust.

Relationships are not about wandering. They’re about long-term residence in your person’s heart no matter what comes knocking on the door. Patience is and always will be the first requirement of love.

Messages From The Lines Of Hexagram 56

Hexagram 56 Symbol

Line 1:

Pride is fatal. Not being kind to wanderers just because you have a roof over your head is a big mistake. One day or the other, you might find yourself knocking on the doors of people who perceive you as the strange wanderer. If they shut the door on you, consider it karma. The universe lets no act of disdain go unnoticed.

Line 2:

Increased caution and sharper judgment that comes with a wandering lifestyle makes you wiser. One cannot live on the roads carefree – muggers exist, and you have to find your own way. As you learn to survive in solitude, the tragedies and disturbances of life won’t faze you anymore. As sadistic as that might sound, it’s actually a good thing considering life will challenge you repeatedly because of your unconventional lifestyle.

Line 3:

As a wanderer, it’s easy to step into unfamiliar territory that’s also dangerous. Kind people exist, but they’re not everywhere. Some will view you as a threat and some might even see you as an opportunity. Therefore, don’t make the mistake of being too loud about your presence – you don’t go into a peacefully sleeping bear’s cave and make noise; it can be a fatal mistake.

In practical life, when you have no idea which field of work to choose, go with the option your heart is most content with but remain lowkey for a while once you step foot in the new territory.

Line 4:

For a traveler, timing is crucial. The one who travels by night needs to be more alert of his surroundings compared to someone who travels in broad daylight with friendly people by his side. Natural occurrences like rain and excessive heat are also factors to consider.

In life, every new journey requires some planning and thought; the most important of which is timing the unfolding of events correctly. No one can accurately predict the future but having an idea of what you’re in for will at least eliminate the element of shock/surprise, which is the last thing you want when you’re expecting things to go as planned.

Line 5:

To make memories worth keeping, a traveler needs to make journeys that are worth setting out on. Bad destinations will disappoint, making the whole journey seem pointless. While a wanderer does not have a set destination, there is still a purpose to his wanderings. Without purpose, he’s like a fallen leaf that changes direction whenever the wind blows.

Line 6:

At every temporary safe haven/checkpoint, people will make a wanderer feel welcomed and loved. He’s cared for and cherished by the locals in the best of ways – yet they’re not his own. Sometimes, when the wind is blowing in a favorable direction, it’s easy to forget that mother nature is not your friend – at least not for long.
