A man without limitations is as free as a bird in the sky. But, there are downsides to that. In a limitless sky, it’s easier to lose your way and make mistakes without consequences. There’s nothing to learn, solve, or fight against. Ease is good but, without limitation, one simply gets too comfortable.

Hexagram 60 from the I Ching illuminates the idea of welcoming limitations with open arms and finding ways to grow around them.

Hexagram 60 Message

There’s no doubting the fact that limitations are absolutely terrible and gut-wrenching on a journey that was supposed to go smoothly. However, the euphoria that comes with accomplishing goals and wonders despite there being limitations is unmatched. Frankly speaking – limitations make a journey much more exciting. There are more troubles, mysteries, and creative challenges to get around, adding that extra layer of thrill that just isn’t there in smooth and steady paths.

Humbleness and humility is also a byproduct of dealing with limitations in your path. Because you might need help and favors from others to work around certain hindrances, humility is an important tool in your arsenal to get willing people on board.

Hexagram 60 Message For Love & Relationships

A free bird will feel trapped in an enclosure no matter how large it is. Human beings are free species. When a new relationship restricts you with certain rules and boundaries, it’s easy to feel trapped and suffocated. If protectiveness in your relationship starts to transition into toxicity and controlling behavior, both parties must sit down and have a serious chat.

Certain boundaries in a relationship must undoubtedly be followed to ensure trust and fidelity. Imposing any other serious limitations on your partner, however, can turn a good relationship into captivity.

Messages From The Lines Of Hexagram 60

Hexagram 60 Symbol

Line 1:

Loopholes work – without a doubt. But, they can only work for so long. If an obstacle is faced and you find a way to work around it, know that it is only a temporary fix. Serious expansion and progress will require you to clear the path no matter what.

If a bird is put into a cage, it can only fly within the four corners of the enclosure. However, if it wants to fly into the limitless sky, it needs to get out of the cage first.

Line 2:

One can limit everything but emotions – at least not for long. Not expressing enough is a mistake many make and then wonder why they feel suffocated by their own existence. In reality, the pressure of unsaid words and crammed feelings builds up inside of them…till it explodes.

Take the example of a bottle. A bottle can only be filled to the brim; after that, any extra liquid just spills out. Overfilling a bottle will cause it to explode and make a big mess. The same happens when you limit your emotional expressiveness. One day or the other, the unsaid words will ooze out, bringing big trouble your way.

Line 3:

A little bit of selfishness is mandatory if one desires to break through the limitations of society. The upsides are – you’ll feel freer than ever and able to confidently take a stand against outdated conventions. Unfortunately, however, you might also attract some unwelcoming eyes that are hostile towards new development and modernity. Therefore, be bold but be on the lookout as well!

Line 4:

When volunteering for a team project, it’s good to know your limitations and weaknesses beforehand. Otherwise, you’ll be embarrassing yourself when the time comes. Also, claiming to be good at something and then not being good at it just gives a bad impression to others on the team who may be counting on you.

Line 5:

Things can really start getting out of hand when people begin considering ethics and basic morality as “limitations”. No matter how much of a free spirit you are, devouring others’ property and rights will always remain a boundary that is not supposed to be crossed. If you do take a step in that direction, the consequences can be dire.

Line 6:

Rather than seeing limitations as obstacles in your path, view them as opportunities to put your creativity to the test and make something meaningful out of it. This switch in outlook can be especially magical if you happen to be someone naturally blessed with creative talent.
